MoFA, Thailand press releases : Official Visit to the Kingdom of Thailand of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the 2nd Thailand – Cambodia Joint Cabinet Retreat

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will pay an Official Visit to the Kingdom of Thailand as guest of the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand upon invitation of His Excellency General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, on 18 December 2015 and will co-chair the 2nd Thailand – Cambodia Joint Cabinet Retreat on 19 December 2015. This visit is part of the celebration of the 65th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The two Prime Ministers will have a bilateral discussion in the morning of 18 December 2015.  Topics of discussion include the celebration of the 65th Anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations, cooperation on border development, agricultural products, promotion of trade and investment, enhancement of connectivity, and cooperation in the region as well as international forum.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister of Cambodia will deliver a keynote address on Investment in Cambodia at the Thailand – Cambodia Business Forum. This seminar is hosted by the Thailand – Cambodia Friendship Association, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Prime Minister of Cambodia will be accompanied by Cambodian businessmen who will attend the business matching and networking with the Thai private sectors.

In the evening of 18 December 2015, General Prayut Chan-o-cha will host an official dinner for the Prime Minister of Cambodia and his delegation.

On 19 December 2015, the two Prime Ministers will co-chair the 2nd Thailand – Cambodia Joint Cabinet Retreat (JCR). The discussion will focus on ways to enhance cooperation in key areas of mutual interests including political, economic, social and cultural issues.

On this occasion, the two Prime Ministers will witness the signing of four documents: (1) Joint Declaration of the 2nd JCR, (2) MOU on Development of the Cross Border Control Facilities, Construction of the Border Bridge and Access Roads at Ban Nong Ian, Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province in the Kingdom of Thailand and Stung Bot, Poi pet City, Banteay Meanchey Province in the Kingdom of Cambodia, (3) MOU on Labour Cooperation, and (4) Agreement on the Employment of Workers.
