Myanmar considers reducing fee for Certificate of Identity to Myanmar workers

Myanmar might probably reduce the fee for a Certificate of Identity to migrant workers from that country to Thailand.

Employment Department Director General Arak Phrommanee said that he had visited Myanmar and discussed with Myo Aung, the permanent secretary of the Myanmar Ministry of Labor, Immigrants and Population, the management of Myanmar workers in Thailand.

Mr. Myo Aung advised that the Myanmar government is considering whether to reduce the fee for the issuing of a Certificate of Identity which could be used instead of a passport from 400 baht to 300 baht for each migrant worker.

Meanwhile, a plan will be raised to the Myanmar government for Thailand to accommodate Myanmar nationals who may commute between the neighboring states.
