Thai authorities reportedly deported over 100 Myanmar nationals in one week after arresting them for illegal entry by crossing Mae Sai creek.
Tachileik District Administration Office, Myanmar-Thai liaison officer U Tun said, “Thailand arrested these persons and took action against them for illegal entry into their country. They were deported back to Myanmar through Myanmar Immigration Department officials.”
Tachileik-Mae Sai friendship bridge No. 1 has been closed since March 23 in the wake of COVID-19.
