MMN has published bibliography since 2002 as a companion publication of the resource book on migration in the Greater Mekong Sub-region. The bibliography serves as a guide to the information currently available on the issue and also highlight some of the research gaps that currently exist. This is the proceeding from the Symposium entitled “Protecting Migrants’ Rights When They Leave the Host Country” co-organised by the MMN, Action Network for Migrants (AMN), MAP Foundation, Asian Migrant Centre and IOM on 30 September to 2 October 2004, Chiang Mai, Thailand. MMN invited policy makers and representatives of IGOs, NGOs and migrants’ grassroots organizations to discuss the related issues in preparation for the MMN collaborative research that was to be carried out in 2005-6. The proceeding includes the summary of presentations and discussion during the open forum as well as the original power point presentations prepared by resource persons.
